Floods & Ponies

by Avalon on January 25, 2012

We were meant to be riding logs at the Pass in Byron Bay but instead we find ourselves dodging logs at creek crossings in a Ford F100 out the back of Mullumbimby.

On Sunday afternoon we decided to visit Avalon’s family farm at Main Arm 30 minutes west of Byron Bay.

We threw in the back two wood grain epoxy 9 footers that customers have come back raving about.

Avalon has been chomping at the bit to ride one of these new lightweight logs at The Pass (one of our fav breaks).

With the demise of holiday crowds and an influx of swell… we assumed our timing would be perfect!? Man, were we wrong!

4 Creek Crossing All 2 Metres Underwater!

As you might know, it has been bucketing down here in Northern New South Wales and Queensland.

There are 4 creek crossings in between Main Arm and the Pacific Highway.

They are all 2 metres underwater = NO SURFING :(

Maevin Falls in Love

Maevin (our super-sized pooch) has been a true star in our little disaster.

Maevin with her new best mate

She has fallen in love with a huge horse called Isadoro and watching the two of them interact is simply amazing.

We are passing our days and fighting off cabin fever watching a beach dog smooch a farm horse all day. Pretty special.

Jarrod and Tommy are in store continuing our Sales and dancing in the rain.  Thanks lads!
