The fuller nose on this board allows for extra floatation and buoyancy. This board gives similar floatation to a 7’6 malibu due to it’s large volume. Combined with the buoyant epoxy construction this allows you use the extra floatation to increase your wave catching ability.
The Spoon has mid range performance rails which increase drive and stability. Single to double concave ensures this board is highly responsive and a high vee through the tail gives great release.
This board has been a hit with performance surfers who want to glide on smaller waves in between swells. it has also been the perfect alternative for those who don’t want to ride a mini mal but still need to catch waves. We have found this board to be the best wave catcher in it’s size range while maintaining a responsive attitude that mini mals lack.
