5 questions to ask before buying a surfboard online

Posted by RH on

Are you thinking of buying a stand up paddleboard or surfboard online? Everyone wants a hassle-free transaction, but do you know what to look for in an online seller?

Here are 5 questions to ask before buying a surfboard online.

Does the store have a shop front?

This is handy, especially if you have a friend or family member who can check out the board on your behalf, in person. It’s also a reassurance that the company you’re dealing with has after sales service and is answerable after the transaction takes place.

Do they post videos?

If you can’t physically get in to the store, videos will give you a feel for how the surfboard or stand up paddle board performs in the water.

At The Surfboard Warehouse we are constantly updating our library of demo videos, this way you’re kept up to date with the latest models and designs as soon as they hit the market. See them in action and know how they perform!

Have you read their reviews?

Reviews are a consumer’s best friend. If you don’t know someone who has bought from the online surfboard shop, reading the reviews can be super helpful.

Check out the store’s Facebook page for feedback, it’ll give you a real indication of their after sales service and the quality of their products.

Do they have a warranty?

What warranties do they offer on their SUPs and surfboards? It’s important to safeguard yourself, so we recommend you check out the warranties before you commit to buy.

The Surfboard Warehouse follows all Australian Competition and Consumer Commission guidelines in regards to our warranty policy.

What are their freight and packing procedures?

What are their freight charges? How long do they take to deliver the board? Can you track your board during delivery?  At The Surfboard Warehouse we have trained staff that are familiar with transit times throughout Australia.

How are the boards packed? The Surfboard Warehouse staff know how to pack a board, we pack between 20 and 30 a day. We take drastic measures to ensure our boards arrive safely at your door, they are all heavily bubble wrapped, the rails are wrapped with cardboard along with the tail and nose. The boards are then placed into a solid cardboard box and more bubble wrap off cuts and cardboard is used to reinforce the board.

The Surfboard Warehouse is a reputable, well-known online surfboard retailer and we pride ourselves on the quality of our SUPs and surfboards. If you have any questions, call us on 1800 983 227, or fill out a contact form.
