Beau Young showing us the Amazing Grace is capable of
Beau Young loaded up his Amazing Grace and took it down to Fingal Heads on a clear winters day to show us what this funboard is capable of.
The Aquatic Social Scene Amazing Grace is one of the fastest retro boards we have ever produced. This retro fish is fascinating to ride as it appears to skim above the water until you put it on the rail where it drives itself through turns like a performance shortboard. The Amazing Grace comes in a traditional marble resin tint available in 2 colours and now features a 5 fin setup giving this board even more versatility so it can cater for any wave conditions on the day.
The single to double concave contributes to its speed, while the sharpened rails at the rear contribute to its drive and hold. The rocker has been kept very low to increase speed and the nose has been left wide to allow the surfer to ride this board 4-6 inches shorter than they would normally ride. Under the feet it feels very much like a skateboard and the amount of speed this board generates is astonishing.
This board performs exceptionally well in sloppy or small conditions where your traditional shortboard would struggle and they go equally well in waves up to head height. The Amazing Grace has been glassed thick, as all good traditional fish should be and the tints are an art form in themselves. If you want to go fast, look good and have an awesome time in any or all conditions...the Amazing Grace will amaze you.
