Feeling the love

Posted by The Surfboard Warehouse on

This weekend is all about one thing, LOVE! This Saturday is Valentine’s Day and at The Surfboard Warehouse we are looking forward to getting all loved up and enjoying the weekend with the special people in our lives.

If you’re lucky enough to share your passion for surfing with the one you love, there’s no doubt that you’ll be spending this weekend on the sand or in the ocean. We asked our staff to share their ideas on some great ways to spend Valentine’s Day on the water.

A sup adventure

Why not take your valentine out on a stand up paddle boarding adventure? Escape the rat race, pack a picnic lunch, strap your sups to the roof of the car and set off for a Valentine’s Day you’ll never forget.

In Australia we have some beautiful waterways and an epic coastline that’s itching to be explored. Stand up paddle boarding offers a new perspective and allows you to discover new spots you’d otherwise miss out on.

Go for a paddle, then find a deserted location to kick back and enjoy each other’s company. That’s romance right there!

Tandem surfing

If you’ve ever tried tandem surfing you’ll know what a laugh it can be. Head to the beach with a longboard and give tandem surfing a go. It’s so much fun and a great way to get in the water together. Laugh with each other, and at each other, as you try to master the art of tandem surfing.

Become a surf coach

If your partner doesn’t already surf you could always teach them yourself. Check out these tips for beginner surfers. Sunshine, waves and surfing, it’s a recipe for a very successful date.

We recommend taking out a longboard or a softboard, both have greater buoyancy making it easier to stand up.

Valentine’s Day with friends

Not a big fan of romance? Boycott the hugs and kisses, get a few friends together and head to your favourite beach with a variety of boards. It’s so cool experimenting with different boards and so much fun when you do it with a big bunch of friends. Buff out your beach experience by taking down a couple of umbrellas, food and drink, and some music; you’ll be set for the day.

Enjoy the weekend lovers!
