Product Description

The AQSS Flying Fish is the perfect board to surf in less than perfect conditions.

The flying fish features a fuller outline and rail section that allows for maximum stability, speed and control to glide on through those fatter waves. The Flying Fish in its larger sizes are ideal for a confident beginner but the shape won’t disappoint even the most experienced surfers.

This retro fish is constructed with a bamboo eco sandwich with timber on both the deck and bottom of the board increasing its strength and durability. The double concave through the tail combined with thruster or quad options provides functionality in a variety of surf conditions.

These boards are a must have for any quiver and will have you grinning ear to ear as you fly down the line.

Best suited for Beginners to Experienced users who want a blend of versatility, stability, strength and performance

  1. Awesome step up from a foamie

Posted by Adam on 10th Jul 2020

Prior this board, I was riding a 7'6 foamie. I'm 180cm, 83kg and the 6'6 version of this board is just awesome. There was no transition period from the foamie to this board, I find I'm nose-diving less, and it looks great!

  2. flying fish 5/8 is a beast!

Posted by Jayson on 29th Jan 2020

This is a game changer for me as a mild intermediate surfer. I thought I will be having hard time to get use to the board as I jumped from 7ft fomies to 5/8ft flying fish. I haven’t done to much duck diving for a long time for fomies and at first I find it hard to dd but after 3rd time of using it I got no issue duck diving it whatsoever. This is amazing. The deliveries are great packaging is well done and safe. All in all it’s a great transaction and great board for a half of the other board brand price.

  3. Great for beginners

Posted by Alex on 23rd Jan 2020

Just got the 6'2 flying fish funboard a fortnight ago and have taken it out 4 times. It is amazing! I'm a beginner surfer weighing 60kg and am 170cm tall that has taken 4 lessons using a softboard ranging from 7'6 to 9' and hired similar softboards no more than 10 times over the past year. I was worried that the size and volume was going to be too little but I'm actually finding it easier to get up and turn. Only difficulty is that the board is a lot more sensitive to body movements when I am paddling out but once I'm up I love it! Highly recommend this as your first board if anyone is thinking about purchasing it. Plus it fits in my car when I pull down the back seats so transporting is super easy. MUST BUY~!

  4. Such a fun easy board to ride

  6. Amazing service and board

Posted by Unknown on 19th Oct 2019

It was a big deal purchasing my first board but the customer service and chatting online was so helpful as i was able to get advice on which board to buy and the sizing. Got the 6'2 and was so shocked at how light and buoyant the board was. Amazing for catching even white wash and would highly recommend for anyone purchasing their first board. Super stoked!

  7. Cheats board!!

Posted by Sutto on 8th Oct 2019

Stoked with the flying fish, been riding a 7"6 mahi mahi for the last couple of years, jumped straight back on the 6 footer no dramas!paddles great, easy as to pick up waves, fast and drivey, goes really well with a decent quad set up and small keel trailing fin, shapers Darc drive, happy man, feel like a grommett at age 51, thoroughly recommended,as usual excellent service and delivery time, cheers, sutto

  8. Great looking board

Posted by Gary on 24th Sep 2019

As usual the board was delivered on time with no damage. The board is made well with a little bit of weight in it, but not too much. It paddles well the 6'6" and catches waves well. Better ridden as a quad. Very good value for money.

  9. Awesome service, awesome board (Flying Fish 5'8)

Posted by Vacuum on 15th Sep 2019

This is what I'm talking about. Finally an Australian on-line retailer that knows what service quality and delivery is all about. Package arrived in Sydney in two days! Packaging was top notch. Good value too. Daughter is loving her new board and this board seems to be a perfect board to transition on. Already bought another board from good are they.....pretty darn good based on our recent experience.

  10. 5'6 flying fish

This board is worth it's weight and some more in gold

  11. Was Able to Move Off My Mini Mal

Posted by Greg C on 10th Jul 2019

I found out about the EPS board technology which is like a foamy inside but a normal hard board on the outside. Because its easy to get onto waves I'm now able to ride this as well as the Mini Mal. Very happy

  12. inbetweener

Posted by chris Hood on 5th Jul 2019

was looking for a board between a short and mini mal, at 95kg the.6'6 still very buoyant, paddles very well, do have to move feet a fair bit to get the board to pick up speed, but has been great so far in smaller conditions, fast delivery, the additional board bag was great quality. first board, but wont be the last from SW
