Product Description

The AQSS Flying Fish is the perfect board to surf in less than perfect conditions.

A wave catching machine the Flying Fish’s wider outline and fuller rails allows for maximum stability, speed and control to glide on through those fatter waves. The Flying Fish in its larger sizes are ideal for a confident beginner but the shape won’t disappoint even the most experienced surfers.

This retro fish is constructed with a bamboo eco sandwich with timber on both the deck and bottom of the board increasing its strength and durability. The subtle double concave through the tail combined with thruster or quad options provides functionality in a variety of surf conditions.

The Flying Fish has been designed to carry maximum volume distribution so you can ride it smaller than your typical fish. The EPS core and higher volume ensure the board floats incredibly well, paddles like a dream and will see you catching more waves per surf session

These boards are a must have for any quiver and will have you grinning ear to ear as you fly down the line.

Best suited for Beginners to Experienced users who want a blend of versatility, stability, strength and performance

  1. Absolutely Amazing

Posted by Sophia on 23rd Sep 2018

I recently purchased this board and I couldn’t have been happier! Easy to ride, beautiful colour, nice shape and very light. I was catching wave after wave on this board. Very easy to duck dive with! I would highly recommend this board!!

  2. Funtastic board

Posted by Unknown on 24th Jun 2018

First board I’ve ever bought! Bought my first 6’2 board, transitioning from a 7’0 mini mal. I consider myself between beginner and intermediate, It was an easy transition and to catch waves on even during choppy and bad conditions. I thought my transition from a mini mal to the flying fish would be difficult but the first time I rode it, it actually was easy. Probably could have even got a 6’0 or shorter.

  3. Epic board

Great board, gets waves so easy. The 6’2” as a thruster is great to learn on and even better for an old longboard rider like me. I can throw it round like im a kid again.

  4. great board as a quad.

Posted by Sammy Sam on 1st Apr 2018

thruster is suited for fuller days, Once you start playing with the fin configuration its a different story, I am 178cm and 85kg, The 5' 10" with its almost 42 litre is buoyant but easy to dive and fairly easy to get on any wave.
Once you try twin and my now preferred quad the board comes into its own, with quad you can get steep barrels as you have 2 fins on the rail and with no centre fin drag lots of speed, you can still slide the board out like a twin with its fine placement although has nice control. Good all round ride loving it best in 2 to 5 ft . really fun board.

  5. Stoked

Posted by Unknown on 31st Jan 2018

After a small mix-up in the ordering stage (which the staff resolved before I was even aware there was an issue) the board arrived incredibly fast. Normally shipments from the East to Perth take yonks but the board arrived in around 4 working days.
No worries with the packing, it was wrapped up super-secure in layers of foam inside a box.
The board itself is everything that was advertised. Floaty. Not as bouyant as longer foam board and not as agile as a proper shortboard but that sweet spot in between. So much fun. Seems well-built but time will tell.
One of the fins that came with it snapped off on the second surf, but the plugs are glassed in solidly. Grabbed some fins from another board and straight back into it.

  6. Best board! So easy to catch waves

I’ve bought this board and absolutely love it. Perfect for small waves. Great for beginners and intermediates

  7. Best birthday present

Posted by Unknown on 27th Oct 2017

We couldn't be happier with this surfboard. We purchased it as a birthday present 13 year old daughter - she took the board out straight away, she caught wave after wave, the board was so easy for her to manage - we had one very happy 13 year old! Board looks beautiful too, and was delivered within a few days of ordering. Thank you !

  8. Perfect first hard board

Posted by nigel chapman on 7th Sep 2017

I bought this for my partner after she's been riding a 6'6 soft board. We took the 6'0 to Sri Lanka and she loved it.. It's light, easy to manage, buoyant and strong. Also allowed her to trim and pump a little in the pocket. We were both super stoked!

  9. an old man's delight

Posted by Bags on 2nd Aug 2017

this is the shortest board I have had for years(surfing since I was 7) it works really well, manoeuvrable, fast, paddles easy, picks up waves easy. I think you can say I'm impressed. So far it seems to be a well made board that I hope will last. one small thing is one of the fin screws is at too flat an angle, I need to be careful when screwing it tighter.

  10. Great first board

Posted by Fred Schwenke on 30th Jan 2017

My two daughters have just graduated from a soft top Malibu to the fish for fun on Sydney beach and point breaks. Both girls love the style of the board and have transitioned easily to the fish. In fact they love the speed and maneuverability with no loss of wave catching ability. I love this board. I am not sure the designers will agree but it reminds me of the Mark Richards twin fin I learned to surf on in the 80's
