Product Description

The Vessel Tajen is redefining the surfing industry thanks to its hybrid shape and volume distribution.

The all new Tajen is taking the market by storm with its intelligent design, durable construction and board profile that, put simply, just makes sense.

The Tajen is constructed using a lightweight yet durable EPS core and glassed in entirety with a 3K carbon wrap to create the perfect blend of strength and weight. The wide point on the Tajen is centred at the chest area allowing maximum stability and paddle power which will improve your wave count dramatically. In addition to this ingenious volume distribution the rounded pin tail allows tight carving turns in the pocket whilst also giving hold in the tube with maximum speed to push through those impossible sections.

This board is fast and forgiving and is designed with summer fun in mind. The Tajen offers the perfect balance of volume with a modern twist, this board will blow your mind in summer slop to perfectly groomed waves on beach breaks or even those elusive point breaks.

If you are looking for a well-rounded and refined hybrid funboard then the Tajen is certainly worth consideration.

Best suited for experienced users who want a forgiving, fast and progressive hybrid shortboard

  1. Solid board at great price

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Feb 2020

Bought this to get more foam under my chest for paddling, but still perform like a shortboard. It does both, and at half the price of the bigger known brand that I was looking at.
I’m 5’10 and 95kg. I bought the 6’2 board and it seems to be just the right size for me. Swapped the plastic fins out immediately for some AM2’s in the thruster setup and it’s great. I’ve been out in 2-6ft surf and it’s handled everything thrown at it so far.
    Light weight board.
I should also mention that it was delivered within only 2 business days from placing the order.

  2. Quality board, great price

Posted by Unknown on 7th Jan 2020

I bought this board just before Christmas and it arrived, perfectly packaged, 5 days later. Very happy with the quality of the board. I’m 65kg and I got the 5”8”, which suits me great.
Prompt service and responses to my queries. Can’t fault The Surfboard Warehouse.

  3. Killer sled

    Great board
Surprisingly light with solid build quality
    Paddles great, fast and responsive
Couldn't justify spending around a Grand for the same high end board.
    I'm 5'7 65kgs and I got the 5'6.
Perfect for my weight and ability.
    Very happy with my purchase.

  4. Stoked

Posted by Ryan Brown on 14th Oct 2019

I'm 34, 6'2" and 80kgs. After my first winter as a surfer, I went for the 5'8" to have a summer option and really test my progress. Took her for a paddle in punchy 2-3 foot shoreys expecting to struggle but we just clicked from the first wave. Plenty of volume makes wave catching easy and she has plenty of speed and maneuverability while feeling stable underfoot. Have taken her out in both clean and less than ideal conditions a few times in up to 4 ft and getting more confident with turns each time. Still not a radical shredder but stoked with another progression in my surfing journey courtesy of the Tajen.

    Love from Avoca Beach

  5. Good Alrounder

Became a wave pig overnight on this board it catches everything. Responsive too. Great board all round

  6. Wave Machine

Posted by Kingpin on 19th Jul 2019

Bought the 6,6 tajen wanting a bit more volume and paddle power. Took it out for first surf today in 2-3 ft waves and was super happy with it. Got heaps more waves than I normally would with a smaller board and left the water feeling very satisfied. Real easy to get onto waves and hold the line and surprisingly maneuverable for a big chunky board. Great board. Great value!

Great board for the price. I got the 6ft . Very light and good for a paddle..

  8. Awesome!!!!

Posted by Simon Donaldson on 19th Apr 2019

Looks fantastic with a solid build, took it out today in small 2ft surf and it surpassed all expectations! Quick of the mark and plenty of down the line speed means I made sections I wouldn't normally get around. Can't wait to try it in some bigger stuff and see how it goes on the rail but first impressions are that this board is going to be fun!! I'm 5'11" at 77kg, got the 5'8" board which seems to be the perfect fit. Delivery speed was impressive as was the packing around the board itself. Very impressed, will be recommending to anyone looking for a new board. Cheers!!!

  9. Bloody Awesome

Posted by Doug on 28th Feb 2019

Its not often you pick up a board and it feels just right but performs better than expected. I'm a very fit 61, 6'2" tall, 88 kgs and surf most days. I purchased the 6'6" (and maybe could have got the 6'4") The board paddles and catches waves easy but it also performs well. So far I've had it out in small to head high conditions both fat and wally waves and it hasn't missed a beat. So so happy with this board. Also I ordered the board late Friday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday morning (Swansea NSW), 2 days before it was due. The board was packed so well. Easy, seamless deal. Thank you.

  10. Better than I expected very user friendly

Posted by Slowman on 25th Oct 2018

I've had a couple of boards that are similar, like the Aloha Bean and the Lost V2 Rocket and I found they tended to get a bit hung up on take offs at times. The Tajen suffers none of those problems. I've only had one surf but I have to say after a couple of waves to get used to it, my feet seemed to click and found the right place. This thing gets going pretty quick, helped by the great paddling power. I'm 184cm and 90kgs and I normally ride between 32 and 33L and I bought the 5'10 for summer waves, so the extra 3L really helped get it into some small but sucky little shorebreak waves. The first couple of waves it seemed to turn like it was flat and not over on the rail. After that I found the right way to get it on rail and turn it nicely. I even managed a couple of barrels on some shoulder high sets on the shorie. The Tajen just felt good under my feet and ready to do whatever I wanted it to do. Accelerating was no problem set the rail and push to get around little sections and turning up into the lip was easy (even as a quad with JPQ4s) and it had a nice release off the top. For a first surf it was pretty fun in some lazy waves at times. This is a pretty user friendly board.

  11. Tajen

Posted by Unknown on 5th Oct 2018

I got the Tajen about 3 months ago. Arrived quickly, excellent packaging. I would have surfed it now about 20 times across a range of conditions from small onshore to clean and steep overhead barrels. The board performs really well, easy entry to waves and stable in the take off. Very fast when up and going and really responsive, can get vertical and also easy for cutties. I am 52 year old, 6 foot 1 and 78kg and bought the 5'8".

  12. Looks the Goods

Posted by Dan on 3rd Aug 2018

Customer service of a very high standard and delivery in record time as per previous 2x purchases. Haven't had a chance to get out on it yet as there is no swell at the moment. I got the 6'2" and ditched the supplied fins and fitted a set of Shapers, AM2 Large. I am 83kg and 174cm. Will update after my first couple of rides.

  13. Catch More waves

Posted by Geoff on 13th Mar 2018

I am a 100kg average surfer at best and this board helps me catch more waves and gets way out in front of the white water. It has so much speed there is plenty of time to plan a cut back!

  14. fun board

Posted by rabbit on 9th Feb 2018

haven't surfed for 10 years finally got up its a great board feels good under the feet looking forward to surfing more waves it has a solid positive feel about it, I like it, I'm stoked and for the price of the board excellent

  15. Easy paddling

Posted by Unknown on 13th Jan 2018

Bought a 6'0 for summer surfing. Great board and delivery over the Xmas period. I'm 5'11 and weigh 88kg and this board has plenty of volume for a summer board. Great over the flat sections but picks up the pace too when it gets a bit steeper and the rail can hold too! Loving it! Only 4 stars as it could do without the graphics - nothing really!!! Was looking at buying a popular board with the same dimensions but couldn't justify the price tag, very happy I didn't waste a load of money!!!

  16. Cheat stick

  18. The ultimate surfboard

Posted by Noel on 2nd May 2017

Pintail fish. Just like the Hypto.
The rails feel very nice and the deck is alot more durable than the hypto. Strong deck.
    First wave was brilliant.

  19. Great board

Posted by Paul on 22nd Mar 2017

I purchased a 6'6" from the boys at Mooloolaba this week (50yrs old 95kg / surfing twice a week past 30yrs) Was looking at a similar shaped board from a major name brand, but couldn't justify the hefty price tag. The Tajen ticked all the boxes for me. Swapped over a fins and put in a set of Neptune Quads. Surfed it today in clean 2-3 ft shories. Light, responsive, easy to paddle and fast down the line. Very happy with both service and product!

  20. Awesome board

Posted by Chris Reynolds on 20th Mar 2017

Got a 6'6 Tajen, I'm 105Kg so got a little more volume than usual. This board is awesome, so much speed and control. First wave was a little sketchy but after I got used to it being a bit different from my normal boards this thing was brilliant. Just need to chuck some decent fins in it, not the OG's. Really easy to paddle and get waves.
Delivery was good and on time (little expensive). Can't wait to take this board out again ASAP!!!
    Thanks SW.

  21. Epic board

Posted by Rastus on 15th Mar 2017

Really enjoy riding this board it handles just about anything. Rode it out in 6-8ft point waves as a quad and it had excellent hold and was paddling into the sets nice and early. Great in waves with a bit of power but still goes alright when it's small. All round pretty fun and easy board to ride.

  22. Fly Down The Line

Posted by Phil on 1st Mar 2017

Dumped the OG fins and stuck a Dion quad set up and the thing went well. Super fast in the two to three foot day
I took it out in four foot onshore with some power behind it but really needed the thruster set up that day
I ride mals so its a big step down but i didn't suffer at all with enough volume and width to take my fat lazy ass into account ( kidding i'm supermodel stacked with abs like a god)
Overall a great board , i took the seven option as i am a longboarder but i reckon i could of got away with the 6"6" .

    Cheers boys
