We’re stoked to announce that we’ve opened up shop in Byron Bay. The Surfboard Warehouse is on Byron’s main drag at Shop 2/15 Lawson Street. With Byron’s surf scene continually growing and more people travelling to this gorgeous Northern NSW destination we thought we’d get involved. The new store has all our well-know boards such as our epic Stand Up Paddle boards and our extensive range of surfboards. Whether you’re a backpacker looking for a 7’0 Vessel LunaSea performance fish to learn on or you’re a rider from way back keen on one of our Vintage Logs, the Byron Bay store has it all. The new Atlantis Halo 2014 SUPs have also just come in, and they're selling fast.

We’ve geared up a great young team of frothers perfect for the Byron location. In charge of the show is our previous Warehouse Manager Zach. He jumped at the chance of managing his own store and is killing it; his laid-back yet enthusiastic attitude is exactly what we were after in Byron Bay. Next in line is Scotty. With an extensive background in retail and good surfboard knowledge, he’s fitting into the team smoothly. Our final Byron team member is Anna. Other than the company’s owner Avalon, she’s our first female sales assistant in the Surfboard Warehouse family. Anna is a surf coach and has lived in the bay for a few years now, so she has a thorough understanding of the local surf culture and breaks.

We think you’ll love our new team in Byron so we quizzed them on their favourite boards and Byron hang outs so as you can get to know them a little better. Although don’t ask Scotty what he rides “I had my gear stolen from my car…my fault though, I left it unlocked.” OUCH! When we asked the guys their favourite breaks around town, they didn’t give away all the secret spots, but were happy to share their favourites. Anna says she’s “had some very memorable times out at the Wreck with my mates, laughing, enjoying the sunset and listening to the drumming circle.” Zach thinks “The Wreck’s super fun when you get it without 100 guys on it.” Scott reckons “you can’t beat the pass on a 9ft log on a clear day.”

With Byron Bay being quite the magical place we asked what the best thing about living in the shire was. Anna asks “What ISN’T the best thing about living in Byron Shire?” If you head down for the weekend be sure to grab a drink after your surf. You’ll catch Zach and Scotty at “The Beachy” Beach Hotel up by main beach. And Anna thinks “Miss Margaritas Mexican Restaurant across the road from the Beach Hotel do GREAT drinks. Their happy hour is from 5-6 and they have awesome drink specials.” Cheers!

So what can you expect when you come to visit The Surfboard Warehouse Byron Bay store? Anna promises “customers can grab a board and get local knowledge for breaks, lessons, anything they want to know about surfing in Byron.” Scott loves our “great boards at a good price. Bring stories of your own too, we love to hear them!” Zach promises you’ll get “a surf report. Friendly service and a new board.”

The team in Byron Bay are ready and raring to get some boards out in the water. The guys are at Shop 2/15 Lawson Street, Byron Bay and you can call them on 02 6685 7970.
